The vibrant rural town of Crows Nest is located within the Darling Downs region and is situated 543km above sea level. The township of Crows Nest is in the High Country, with four National Parks and three lakes within close vicinity.
Crows Nest is home to an abundance of active Community Groups that provide ongoing social activities and a source of connection for residents within the community. These local groups offer access to a wide range of activities which include a history organisation and museum, music, theatre, arts and crafts groups, sporting activities with access to the towns golf club, squash court and lawn bowls, gardening groups, environmental conservation, local men’s and women’s groups including a Men’s Shed, the QCWA and, youth groups, as just a sample of what is on offer.
In more recent times, the region has seen growth with the advent of enhanced retail and tourism experiences within the town and outlying areas.
The community of Crows Nest has access to a wide range of services including its own Community Banking, a medical centre with ancillary health services, a community pool, golf course, tourist and information centre, council library and art gallery, along with restaurants and boutique retail shops that specifically bring visitors to the town as a destination.
There is also access to everyday conveniences such as a grocery store, butcher, newsagency and post office, petrol station, hotel and other retail outlets not usually seen within a rural community.
The town of Crows Nest, nestled in the high country, provides a balance of old school charm combined with a community embracing change for ongoing economic development.
